Hi I'm Paul

I'm a Tall Mormon.

About Me

I am married with 2 beautiful children. I love being a Dad and spending time with my wife and children. As a family we love being outdoors in Minnesota, riding bikes, jumping on the trampoline, playing games and I also like to play golf. I graduated from college and work as an IT consultant.

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a member of the church because of what it means to me and my family. Knowing that my family relationships are made eternal through my membership in the church is such a comfort. Understanding why I am here on earth and what is most important brings much direction to my life. This helps me focus on my relationship with my Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ and my family ultimately helping me to prioritize what is most important on a day to day basis. I love the opportunity to serve with so many friends to work within my church congregation and my community.

How I live my faith

Living my faith at home is what I consider the most important part of my belief's, I do this by living the tenets of our religion, teaching alongside my wife in our family and in strengthening relationships with my wife and children. We take time each day to pray and read scriptures as a family that bring us together and provide us with spiritual strength and direction in our lives. I also currently volunteer in the presidency of our local "stake", which is a geographic subdivision of our church. My role in this presidency is to help oversee church programs within individual congregations called wards. I enjoy the interactions with other members who serve in a myriad of volunteer capacities to help build our community and reach those who may be struggling and are need of temporal or spiritual assistance. Working with members of our ward and asking them to serve and help in specific ways to assist those in need is also a rewarding part of membership in the church. So much good comes by serving others through visiting with members and helping to meet specific needs. I also enjoy socializing with members of our ward. Some of my favorite activities are annual camping trips, holiday themed parties and youth trips.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Paul
I do this through personal prayer. Prayer is our ability to communicate with our Father in Heaven. I rely on daily individual and family prayer to give guidance to my life and start my day off in a positive way by communicating with my Heavenly Father. I know He answers my earnest prayers, which in turn helps me make better decisions and to better understand my life. I use prayer in all aspects of my life whether for work, home, church or other needs. Show more Show less

Why is self-reliance important to Mormons? Why do Mormons talk about emergency preparedness?

Paul
Part of Mormon doctrine is being prepared, being prepared helps us in many ways to getting as much education as possible to physically preparing for natural disasters and other emergencies. Ultimately, being able to care for my family through being self-reliance and prepared for emergencies with such things as food storage, water, savings and so forth helps bring peace into my life.
