Hi I'm Eythan

I have a really cool wife and a beautiful daughter. My faith in Jesus Christ helps me to be the husband and dad I want to be.

About Me

I served a full-time mission for two years in Romania, where I invited those I met to follow Jesus Christ's teachings. After my mission I returned to school and married a really cool, kind, intelligent, gorgeous girl. Our first child was born a few months ago. I recently graduated with an undergraduate degree in Political Science. I'm waiting to begin a career working for the U.S. federal government. I play lacrosse and football, but I also love video games and board games. I'm also a big-time Batman nerd.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I want to return to live with Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I do what I can to make those around me laugh. I look for opportunities to lift others in small ways: opening doors, washing roommates' dishes, smiling at people I pass, etc. I served a two-year proselytizing mission to Romania, teaching as many people as would listen about Jesus Christ, His atonement, and His restored church. Through my university studies, I hope to develop tools to serve others in whatever career path I end up choosing. The most important thing I can do for the world is to raise my daughter to be a loving, noble, capable woman.

What are some things that tell to you there is a God?

Eythan
When I pray to God, he answers me. When I ask if he loves me, I receive a strong, warm feeling that he does. Show more Show less

Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

Eythan
Baptism can be compared in a lot of ways to a visa. Even if I'm an American with good citizen status, that does not give me authority to hand out a U.S. visa to whoever I like. Only certified and authorized representatives can issue a visa, even to those who qualify. Baptism is symbolically opening the gates to God's kingdom, and that authority to do that can't be assumed or received upon graduation from a school. It can only be held by those who Heavenly Father has called, and it can only exist in His true church. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Eythan
Absolutely! The Book of Mormon's subtitle is "Another Testament of Jesus Christ." We believe the Jesus Christ is God's son and our Savior, and that he atoned for our sins, died, and was resurrected that we may be as well. Show more Show less

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Eythan
Not at all! We are taught in the Book of Mormon that charity is the pure love of Christ. The LDS church participates several humanitarian projects worldwide. In fact, missionary work itself is for the purpose of bringing people a message of happiness. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Eythan
Absolutely! God communicates to us through a living prophet, just as he used to in Moses' times. Today we have Thomas S. Monson to receive revelation for the world, to prophecy and counsel us of things we may need to know, and to instruct us on how God wants us to live our lives. Show more Show less

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

Eythan
Joseph Smith received revelation from God with instructions on how to maintain healthy bodies and spirits. Included are commandments on certain foods, drinks, and activities that we either should or should not partake of/participate in. Show more Show less

Where did Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints begin?

Eythan
This church is the same church as the one Christ established in Israel during his mortal ministry on earth. The doctrines he taught, however, were distorted and altered by misguided men after the death of his apostles. In upstate New York during the spring of 1820, Jesus Christ and God the Father appeared to Joseph Smith, and commanded him to restore his true church upon the earth. Show more Show less

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Eythan
God's true gospel, as established by Jesus Christ, has been restored! We want everyone to know. We've been commanded to spread the word across the globe. This message has brought us each so much happiness and we want to share it with the world. Show more Show less
