Hi I'm Lloyd

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Callifornia, went to Brigham Young University, graduating with a degree in Spanish after serving a mission in the countries of Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras. I served for 20 years in the US Air Force, where among other assignments, I taught at the Air Force Academy. After retiring from the USAF I worked for several years at Arizona State University, but for the past few years I have promoted post-secondary education through a Community Foundation.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were Mormon, and they taught me in my youth, but I also developed my own faith through practicing the religion, generally living by the tenets of the church. I find happiness in serving others through the church.

How I live my faith

I attend church regularly with my family. I enjoy serving in the church and have served as an organization leader and as instructor for varying age groups in Sunday School, and priesthood groups. I am not an accomplished musician, but my Ward asks me to play the organ occasionally for the main Sunday service.

Is it true that Jesus appeared in North America after his crucifixion and resurrection according to the Book of Mormon?

Yes, he did. The story of that visit is detailed in the Book of Mormon. But it is interesting that some Native American traditions especially in Central America provide exterior substantiation of that visit. Show more Show less
