Hi I'm Nancy

I grew up in the southeastern United States. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I'm an empty-nest mother of 5 who has been married to my sweetheart for over 30 years. We home-schooled our 5 children and are now enjoying them as adults. My hobbies include gardening, hiking, cooking, reading, sewing and needlework. I also have a deep love of family history and serve with FamilySearch as a support missionary.

Why I am a Mormon

I met Mormon missionaries when I was a college student and was initially most impressed by their sincerity. It was clear that they honestly believed the things they were sharing with me. This lead me to study and pray about the Church and gain my own witness of its truth. I have now been LDS for 35 years and have never regretted my decision to join the Church. It has made my life rich and full and helped me to understand the eternal purpose of my life.

How I live my faith

I have been actively involved in the Church in many areas, including teaching children, teens, and adults. I serve as a visiting teacher - visiting with other women in my congregation monthly and taking spiritual messages to them. One of the most rewarding experiences I have had has been as I serve with FamilySearch. I am one of the people who answer phone calls from patrons using our family history websites and products. It has been such a joy to help others as they seek out their ancestors!

What do Mormons believe happens to us after we die? What do Mormons believe about life after death?

We believe that after we die, our spirits the essential part of us aside from our bodies return to our Father in Heaven where we continue to learn and progress. We believe that we are eternal beings and our life continues after mortality. Our eternal state will vary depending on our faith and faithfulness. Show more Show less

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

All Mormons of adult years have the opportunity to serve a mission, but it is not a requirement. Those who have taken that opportunity find that a mission is challenging but extremely rewarding and count a blessing to have been able to thus serve the Lord and their fellow man. Show more Show less
