Hi I'm Steven

I'm a student, a thrill seeker, an eclectic and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I do a little bit of everything (Yeah, I had to look up the word "eclectic"). I'm studying to be an Electrical Engineer. I'm planning on also minoring in Music, Computer Science, Mathematics and potentially Business. I'm pretty sure not all of those will happen... but I love all the options. I enjoy playing all sorts of sports. I'm always excited to join in some pickup football, basketball, Frisbee or whatever. Snowboarding and rock climbing have been growing interests of mine. I love a relatively safe adrenaline rush. I love the arts. I enjoy singing, playing guitar, acting, dancing and designing. I'm busy contemplating what I want to do with the rest of my life, seeing as how I enjoy so many different things. I'm confident that things will work out.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because it works. I can't really think of a better way to say it. The principles are true! Although I've been taught to live this way my entire life, at times I've made some decisions contrary to the council that I've been given. It doesn't take much to realize that certain choices make for a more fulfilling lifestyle. Every time that I've applied doctrines of Christ, as taught within the Church, I've emerged with a feeling of worth and strength that I haven't found anywhere else. I've learned that God in anxious to see me grow, and he guides me though gentle prompts in mind and heart. I'm learning more and more each day that by making good and, at times, extremely difficult choices according to those subtle cues, I'm led to stable & secure life, physically, emotionally and spiritually.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being involved. I try really hard to think about others. I Try to arrange parties, gatherings and events of lots of different kinds to get people to lift each other up. I try to spend some time each day pondering the scriptures and planning how to implement the things that I learn in my life. Those things contribute so much to my happiness that I want to share them with others. I often share those feelings and thoughts with friends of mine in our congregation and family. I think that one of the most important ways I live my faith is by seeking to become a better person by following the example of Jesus Christ.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Christ invited all to come and follow him. He promises a witness from the Holy Ghost will confirm our righteous actions. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ is true because I have received spiritual confirmation that it is true. Sometimes it is hard to know how to follow Christ, but God has blessed us with the tools we need to do so. He has called prophets, established a system of order which he constantly directs through revelation. Just as Christ invites us to come, follow him and see, I know that his kingdom is on the earth because I have tried and tested it's teachings. Every principle that I have been taught rings true in my heart, is accompanied by the peace of the Holy Ghost and has brought me closer to my Savior, Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
