Hi I'm Denise Shattuck

I'm a wife. I'm a mother of 4 great kids. I'm a grandmother. I am a children's photographer and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to the most amazing man for 32 years! I have 4 really wonderful grown children and, 2 beautiful grand kids!! All 3 of my sons are Eagle Scouts and my daughter received her YW Medallion Award. My boys all served LDS missions outside of the U.S. My favorite passions are dancing, sewing, creating, spending time with my family, and photography. My love for taking pictures started about 10 years ago. After taking many photography and Photoshop courses I have amazing title of Children's Photographer. Here are a few more tidbits about me: I was a semi-professional ballet dancer in San Jose, CA and instructor for 22 years. I also performed with the BYU Folk Dancers and Young Ambassadors in the 1970's-80's. We toured China, Asia, and the Philippines and shared our love of the gospel through song and dance. I have also taken a Swedish Massage therapy course, am a certified Floral Designer, home seamstress and photographer. I am fairly proficient in Photoshop and Digital Scrapbooking. In my free time I enjoy gardening, genealogy photo restoration and reading. I love photographing children and using light to reflect their beautiful innocence. I hope to make this my life long passion. My goal is to captured a moment in time that brings a smile to your face. ☺ Most of all I love spending time with my husband, children and grandchildren. That is where I find my greatest joy!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to goodly parents who were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have been an active member all of my life. When I was a teenager I experienced some things that gave me great joy and happiness and helped me realize the great love my Savior has for me. Being a Mormon has been a great blessing and has kept me from making decisions that would've sent me down a road of sadness. Knowing that my Savior died for me and has given me a chance to return to Him someday has given me hope and joy. I love this gospel and am so richly blessed by the teachings of our dear Lord and Savior.

How I live my faith

Currently I am involved in teaching a bi-monthly class to girls ages 8-11 years. We gather together to teach skills that will improve their lives. We teach things like giving service to others, preparing nutritious meals, learning about genealogy, budgeting, physical fitness, crafts, sewing, etc. We also spend a little time talking about the importance of living a clean life and following the teachings of Jesus Christ. It is a wonderful job volunteering my time to see the joy come to the girls as they learn a new skill and help ine another. I have also had various other jobs in the church doing Secretarial work, teaching Sunday gospel lessons to children and teenage girls, planning Christmas programs for the entire church (Ward), and Visiting ladies in need. When I am serving others, I feel very fulfilled. It brings me great joy!!
