Hi I'm Misty

I'm going to school full-time. I'm the mother of an 11 month old. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of four kids in a blended family. My parents divorced when I was 10 years old. I am very close to my sister. I am the mother of the most precious little girl on the planet. Somehow I am making it work as a single parent. I am currently going to college for a degree in Visual Communications. That means I'll make fliers and stuff for a living. I am a convert to the LDS Church. I joined in 1995 when I was 18 years old. Since then, my mother, my sister, and my sister's children have joined. My sister's husband is LDS, too.

Why I am a Mormon

I chose to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because of the testimony I received when I read the Book of Mormon and prayed. God the Father told me this was His true church, and that it was His will for me to join. In the years since I made this decision, my life has been filled with a joy I know I would not have found anywhere else. This is not to say my life hasn't had challenges and hasn't been hard. It has been, but the restored gospel of Jesus Christ has given me the tools, faith, and hope I need to make it through anything which happens.

How I live my faith

I have a few volunteer positions in my local congregation, and I enjoy all of them. The first one is visiting three women monthly to make sure the are okay and that their spiritual and physical needs are met. The second is teaching a group of 8-11 year-old girls more about how to become self-sufficient, spiritual women in today's world.
