Hi I'm Michael

I grew up in Texas and now live in the Seattle area with my family. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am currently an MBA student in the US. I love baseball, college football and swimming.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were both converts to the church during their university years. As I grew up in the church, I realized during my teenage years that I had to eventually make a decision for myself as to whether or not this was just a church, or the true church with a prophet through whom God speaks. My conversion and testimony did not come all at once. But by simply living the commandments of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, I came to "know the truth" and it did "make me free". I found that as I strived to love others and put God first, I had greater peace and happiness in my life. And if I fell short, I noticed that peace was absent. As I studied and continue to study the Bible and the Book of Mormon, I receive guidance and inspiration on how to deal with the trials of life. I have come to know of myself that this is Christ's Church and that His gospel is the way that I can make the most out of my time here on earth.

How I live my faith

At church, my wife and I are currently assigned to teach a one hour sunday school class to high school aged youth. We do our best to prepare and teach lessons that will inspire and help make a difference in the lives of these young men and women. Besides Sunday activities, I try to live my faith by being loving others. Work can be stressful, the commute can be brutal and the outside world is full of pessimism and bad news. My attitude is that God wants me to make the best of all of the good and the bad and to be Christ-like towards other people. I think that is the essence of my religion

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Mormons do not worship Joseph Smith. We worship God our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ. We believe that Joseph Smith was prophet of God, comparable to Moses or Peter or Paul. All these men spoke for God in their time and are hailed and remembered for their greatness but are not worshipped in anyway. Show more Show less
