Hi I'm Brian

I love the outdoors, understanding how things work, and being with good people. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently studying mechanical engineering as an undergraduate. School keeps me pretty busy, but when I have the time I enjoy reading, biking, photography, and music.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I seek peace, happiness, and success. There are so many choices to be made in life, and so many different voices urging us to follow so many different paths. The gospel of Jesus Christ helps me to make the simple every day decisions that lead me to things that are good. As I go to church, pray, and study the scriptures I am reminded that it is in serving God and my neighbor that I can find comfort, peace, and fulfillment. As I live and share the gospel, I truly can make a positive impact on the world--however unnoticed those small acts may be by the world in general.

How I live my faith

Faith is believing in something enough that it guides your actions. My faith in Jesus Christ, therefore, is quite naturally a part of everything that I do. I study the scriptures daily (usually in the morning), I pray, I look for and take opportunities to serve. My faith gives me the confidence that I can do things well if I will work hard, so it motivates me in my work. My faith in Jesus Christ leads me to strive to do and be my best and not settle for mediocrity. Christ said, "If ye love me, keep my commandments." John taught that we love Him because He first loved us. Knowing that Christ loves us, helps me understand that His commandments are for my protection--and I love Him for that gentle guidance, so I strive to keep the commandments always. That's how I live my faith.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

The missionaries purpose is to help you understand the gospel of Jesus Christ as we believe it. They will teach you the beliefs that we have about the origins of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, our purpose and responsibility in life, and Jesus Christ and His role in our salvation. Because learning is accelerated when we do things rather than just hear them, they will invite you to do things like pray, study the Book of Mormon, and attend church. It is by sincerely doing these things that each of us can come to understand and believe in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Show more Show less
