Hi I'm Dustin

i love life, I'm a Mormon and you can be one too!

About Me

i just returned from being a missionary in Massachusetts and Connecticut. i love movies and i like video games.i'm a pretty good sports geek. basketball and football are my favorite to play and watch and i'm trying to learn to play soccer. i like learning knew things and I am a student at BYU-Idaho. I just got engaged and we are so excited. i love to laugh and joke around, the best feeling in the world is laughing . i know that my savior lives and that he loves me.

Why I am a Mormon

i was raised in this church and so were my parents. so i grew up in it and my parents knew that it was true and i realized as a young teenager that if the book of mormon is true than that means that this church is true becuase the book of mormon sets us apart from every single other denomination. so as a 14-15 year old teenager i took up an honest study of the book of mormon and i prayed and asked God if it was true and if this church is the only true church on earth. the fire burning within me as i asked confirmed to me that it was true. ever since then i have had other mulitple "small and simple" (alma 37) experiences that has built upon that first experience.

How I live my faith

i bear my testimony to as many people as i can. we can all uplift one another and strengthen each others faith in Jesus Christ. that is what he has commanded us to do and that is what brings us joy in this life. i study the scriptures daily and pray daily. i try to be the best person i can be.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

yeah, i really do believe in a prophet on earth today. God has always worked through prophets and those prophets of the old and new testaments have taught us that God does not change. so God is the same and therefor works through prophets in these times as in times of old. i know this by that fact and also becuase i have asked him (God that is) if the current prophet (Thomas S. Monson) really is a prophet and i know by the "power of the holy Ghost" (moroni 10) that it is true. Show more Show less

What are Mormon Temples used for?

The Temple is Sacred and is not a new idea. Moses built a tabernacle and many of the old testament prophets worshiped in Temples. the Savior himself spent a lot of his teaching inside the Walls of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem. Just as in times of old and since God does not change, he has once again commanded his people to build sacred temples. in these temples sacred and eternal ordinances are performed for ourselves and for the dead. We believe the family is eternal and know that only the power of God can keep us sealed to one another after we die and this is the main purpose of the temple to help families be sealed together for time and all eternity. the Temple is also a place of learning and a place to seek and acquire revelation. any member of our church will tell you that the temple is the one place where they can find the most peace and learn most about Gods plan for us. What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

The Bible is Holy Scripture from God. He spoke to prophets and they wrote down his words and from that is where we get all of our holy scriptures. The Bible comes from the jews and is a record of thier dealings with God and man and a history of thier people and most importantly includes the account of our Saviors mortal riegn and ministry. the bible teaches the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ but unfortunatly is has been transcribed and translated many times and has therefor become vague and some truths have become cloudy. that is why Mormons also use the book of Mormon and other scriptures because it clarifies the bible and makes it clear what the bible teaches. for instance in Matthew 3 we learn that Christ was baptized to "fulfill all righteousness" but the bible never teaches us what that means. however in the Book of Mormon in 2 Nephi 31 we learn what it means to fulfill all righteousness and why the Lamb of God was baptized.
