Hi I'm Elissa!

I grew up in California. I've been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints my whole life.

About Me

I have my associates degree and I am still continuing my education. I hope to become an RN, housewife, and mother. I am a gymnast and currently putting it aside for school. I have Type 1 Diabetes, but that doesn't stop me. I'm interested in many things and I am not very picky.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe in Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father in Heaven. I also believe that we have a Heavenly Mother. I know that we have a living prophet, even Thomas S. Monson and that we have living apostles. The scriptures are true, the Bible, Book of Mormon, Doctrine & Covenants, and all other books, materials, etcetera that we have. I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only true church of God on this earth. Joseph Smith did see and hear the Savior, he did translate the Book of Mormon. I have faith in my leaders and friends. I know missionary work is a great service. I know that families can be sealed Forever in the Temple and with that I may be able to see my mother again. Keeping the Commandments, the word of wisdom, and all other things asked of us by the Lord and by living Prophets will give us many great blessings. Christ died for our sins so that we may have the opportunity to repent and live with our Father in Heaven again. The Priesthood is real and prayers are answered. Studying and meditating on the things of the gospel will make you stronger and more righteous. All of these things I believe and many other things as well.

How I live my faith

I live all the standards of the Gospel. I keep my promises to the Lord and I obey his commandments. I keep the Word of Wisdom. I study the Gospel of Jesus Christ everyday and I pray to my Heavenly Father. In my ward I prepare and decorate the Bulletin Board each month and I am on the Enrichment Night Committee in Relief Society. I also have a calling in the Stake Institute Program where I decorate and prepare the Bulletin Board each month.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

No. Not all Mormons are required to serve a mission. It is expected of young men between the ages of 19 and 26 to serve a mission AKA Elders. Young ladies 21 years and older AKA Sisters can serve if they choose. Also older married couples with no dependent children may serve a mission. Young Men serve for about 2 years and Young Ladies serve for about 18 months. Each Missionary no matter the age, serves as a companion. They serve in pairs. Ex: 2 Elders, 2 Sisters, or a husband and wife. Serving a mission is a great opportunity to serve the Lord and spread the gospel throughout the world. Show more Show less
