Hi I'm Julie

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a stay-at-home mom of 6 busy kids. I love playing the piano, sewing, making jewelry, scrap booking, and other crafty stuff. I spend a lot of my spare time reading, but that, of course is limited by my busy schedule with the kids. I have a wonderful husband who provides for our family in so many ways.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the LDS church for my entire life and was blessed to be raised in a family that lived the Gospel. Even though I have never belonged to another religion, I remember asking myself why I believed this church to be true, or if I believed it to be true. I have vivd memories of pondering the beliefs of the LDS church even when I was young. I always came to the same conclusion: the Gospel is true. When I was young I remember thinking that it just made sense. I still feel that "it just makes sense". However, as I have grown I have learned why it makes sense.

How I live my faith

Within the church, I have the opportunity to play the organ once a month in our Sunday services. I currently coordinate all the music for our sacrament services and serve in a leadership role within our women's organization. I thrive on daily prayer and scripture study. I don't always have time to study the scriptures as thoroughly as I would like, but my family has made a commitment to read daily and to pray together morning and night which has been a wonderful blessing for us. I have also found many opportunities to serve members of our church community and members of our community at large which always seems to lighten my own "load" and bring happines and peace to my soul.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

The family is the basic unit of society. Children are born to a mother and father, creating a family - this is how it was designed and how it should be. We believe that we are each spirit children of our Father in Heaven. In the Bible, Adam and Eve were commanded to "multiply and replenish the earth" and we believe this commandment is still in force. The role of father and mother are of the greatest import as we bring children into this world and raise them so that they too will grow up and have families of their own. Show more Show less
