Hi I'm James

I'm a blogger, an entrepreneur, a student, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a starving college student in Systems Engineering. I repair PC's on the side and work at an IT department on the local university. I'm recently married to the greatest woman on earth (sorry fellas). I love to play with computers, make videos, play sports, and spend time with family.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born and raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I had to go through a time of building the basic building of testimony of the divine truths like everyone else. What do I know? God is a loving Heavenly Father. He cares about each and everyone of us at an individual level. He hears and answers prayers. He sent His son to atone for the sins of the world. I know that Jesus Christ is the Savior and Redeemer of the world. I know that he suffered both physically and spiritually so that I may return to live with Him someday. I know that both God the Father and Jesus the Christ appeared to the boy prophet Joseph Smith, and that through him, they restored the fullness of the gospel on the earth today. How do I know this? I read the Book of Mormon, pondered on its message and prayed to God to know of its truthfulness. I know that we have a prophet here on earth that leads and guides us today.

How I live my faith

Currently I'm a youth leader of the local young men. I have a blast learning from and teaching these faithful and highly spiritual future leaders of the world. Being an Eagle Scout myself I have learned the importance of building a foundation of work ethic and doing good to all men at an early age. This is what I try to pass on to these young men I associate with.

Who founded Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

James
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (or mormons as we are commonly known) was never really "founded" but rather restored. We believe and know that God has called prophets and established his church since the beginning when Adam and Eve were first placed on the Earth. When Christ came, he established His church with a specific organization and taught specific doctrines. Over time and after His death that organization and doctrines slowly dissipated. In the 1800's a prophet was called again to lead and guide God's church. A 14 year old boy, named Joseph Smith had a question that all of us have at one time or another; "Which church is true?" After praying to God, Joesph Smith was visited by God the Father and Jesus the Christ. In his own words he says: "I saw two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other—This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!" What a wondrous and powerful statement! God and Jesus Christ came to this earth! They care deeply about us! Joesph Smith was called to be a prophet. He then, under the guidance of the spirit of God called12 apostles, just as Christ had in His day. We today have 12 apostles and a prophet that teach, inspire, lead and guide the church today. It's a pretty magnificent message that we have. To claim that God and Jesus Christ visited a young boy, and called him to be a prophet is no laughing matter. As we share with everyone this message we also simply ask... Pray to God, and if you truly believe that He hears and answers your prayers, then He'll answer you and tell you if it's truth or not. That's our message to all the world, listen to what we offer and teach, and then pray and determine for yourself if it's true. Show more Show less
