Hi I'm Chris

I am a husband, an ASL interpreter, and a medical student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like bowling, fishing, gardening, Deaf poetry, and Toastmasters.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because the gospel enriches every aspect of my life. It magnifies the love I enjoy in relationships with my family and friends. It gives me insight into how the world works and how to grow spiritually. I could never intuit these principles, value them more than anything in my life, and the Mormon Church gives them away for free! Some of the most precious truths I have gained as a result of living a "Mormon life:" Jesus Christ is the Son of God, Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints is the vehicle God uses to communicate truth to his children.

How I live my faith

I am the Ward Mission Leader. I coordinate missionary efforts in the community, helping people who are seeking the truth obtain the tools they need to find it. I am a hometeacher. I make sure the families in the congregation that I am assigned to have their spiritual and temporal needs met.

What is the Church’s position on abortion?

Commonly misunderstood. In cases of incest or rape, when the mother's health is at risk, or it is highly likely that the fetus will not survive outside the womb, women should prayerfully consider their options and then make their choice under direction of the Holy Ghost. I don't think any organization advocates abortion as a primary means birth control, but there are organizations that approve of using abortion in any case of an unwanted pregnancy. The Mormon church is not one of these. In instances of unwanted pregnancies, excluding scenarios mentioned above, the Mormon church is very much in favor of adoption instead of abortion and has an extensive network of adoption services aimed at making this option accessible for women with unwanted pregnancies.
