Hi I'm Megan

I'm a single mormon mom.

About Me

I'm a single mom of an amazing 11 year old son. I love making cakes for friends and family. I am an elementary school music teacher in Tampa Florida.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church, but more than that, the continual strength and support the gospel offers me has made my membership my own. The feelings of happiness and peace I feel when I do my best to live the gospel help me to remain strong.

How I live my faith

Every aspect of my life is affected by my faith. Choices in mothering my son, how to use my free time, how I relate to friends, even how I will interact with new people I meet in passing are all made with the principals of the gospel in mind. That's not to say that I'm perfect, but without the church, I have no idea who I would be, or how I would live my life.

What are Mormon church services like? Are visitors allowed at church meetings? Can I attend church?

Everyone and anyone are welcome to visit our church services. As you enter our chapel like a sanctuary, prelude music is generally being played on either the piano or organ. People talk softly to one another as they say hello and find a place to sit on a pew. When it's time to start, a member of the Bishopric begins the service. The service includes an opening hymn, an opening prayer, and then any announcements or business that need to be handled. Then it's time for the sacrament. A hymn in sung as members of the Priesthood prepare bread and water to be passed to the congregation. This ordinance is used to remember the atonement of Jesus Christ, as well as to renew covenants made by members of the church when they were baptized. After the sacrament, there are usually two or three speakers as well as an intermediate hymn. The speakers are most often members of the congregation that were previously asked to speak on that Sunday. At the end of the meeting, there is a closing hymn and closing prayer. Other meetings available on Sunday include Sunday School classes available by age for all ages over 18 months old, and additional classes for groups of women, men, young men 12-18, young women 12-18, and children 18 months-12 Show more Show less
