Hi I'm Susan.

I love reading, classical music, dogs and have autistic kids. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Los Alamos, New Mexico, the youngest of four children. After graduating from high school I went to college where I earned a BS in psychology. While home one summer, I started dating my future husband and we married two years later. We lived in Salt Lake City briefly before moving to Colorado Springs, where we have lived ever since. We have four children, three of whom are autistic, which has been challenging, but has also brought blessings. I love reading all sorts of books. I like listening to music, classical mostly, and play the piano and at one time played the French horn. And I love dogs-we have three right now. I take my dogs on early morning walks and enjoy the sunrises I see then. I also help my husband with his business.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family and was always active in the church while growing up. I can't say that there was one moment when I knew for myself that the church was true, but instead it was a gradual thing. One time when I prayed to know if it was true, it was as if a voice said to me "Why do you keep on asking? You already know it is." And I do. I know that Christ is my Redeemer and Savior. I know The Book of Mormon is the word of God and testifies of Christ. I know a prophet lives today and through him we can know the Lord's will in whatever may be happening in a modern world.

How I live my faith

I love reading the scriptures, including The Book of Mormon and The Bible! What a joy they are to me. I pray and go to church as well as serve in it. I have been assigned several women in our congregation to visit each month. Through this assignment, I come to know and love them and have opportunities to serve in ways I might not otherwise. I currently supervise religion classes for high school students in our church, which are held either before school early in the morning or through a home study program.
