Hi I'm Curtis

I laugh, live, love and learn from the experiences of others. I am a Latter-Day Saint.

About Me

I'm a storyteller at heart, a speaker by calling, and a teacher by choice. I have a knack for computers, a degree in art, and a passion for music. I have lived in many places - Germany, California, Utah, Idaho & Georgia - but have only considered one place home. You probably have an idea where that is.

Why I am a Mormon

I was once told by a great man that understanding the "why" to a question was greater then anything else. Why am I a Mormon? The Spirit has born witness of its truthfulness to me. Perhaps the question should then be, "Why did the Spirit bear witness?" I asked. I asked when I felt alone. I asked when I felt discouraged. I continue to ask, even now, for a renewed testimony. The testimony I have is one that comes from having lived in the world. It comes from watching a mother slowly succumb to a disease beyond her control. It comes from hearing the Tabernacle Choir sound as if they were the very angels that sang at the Saviors birth. It comes from feeling the power of the Atonement and knowing that I am forgiven. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the Lord's Church, as easily as I know that the sun will rise every morning. I have felt the touch of our Heavenly Father's hand in my life. I know that He is our Father - and that His Son is our Savior. I know that He loves us - no matter who we are.

How I live my faith

I teach a Sunday School class, participate in service projects in my hometown, and try to view everyone I meet as the Savior would view them. I'm still working on that last part.

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

To have faith in Jesus Christ is to have faith in everything around us. Jesus Christ is the Savior - the one who atoned for my mistakes, and yours - and having him be a part of our relationships adds a strength that comes from something other then yourself. Faith in Jesus Christ helps us to know that we are always loved, always cared for, and always forgiven as long as we turn to our Father in Heaven in repentance and faith. To have faith in our Savior means that we can learn to see our spouses, loved ones, and friends as the Savior sees them. We can look past the arguments, differences, and fears to see that true beauty of that individual. We can remember why we loved them if we have forgotten, or we can allow ourselves to find new things about them to love. With faith in Jesus Christ as a foundation in our relationships we will always succeed. Show more Show less
