Hi I'm Matthew

I'm a student and coach young flag football. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a student and a photographer. I love sports, hiking and playing guitar and piano.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because it brings peace and happiness to every aspect of my life. My faith gives me purpose and helps me understand the difficulties and joys of life. It is rewarding and satisfying emotionally, intellectually, physically and especially spiritually. My religion helps guide my choices to help me find the most happiness. My understanding of where I came from, why I am here, and where I am going leads to a confidence that through Jesus christ, I can overcome any trials that may come in my life and return to live with my Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

One way that I live my faith is by choosing to serve a mission. I will be serving in Brazil for two years. On my mission I will share with others the things that I know about my faith.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

We do not worship Joseph Smith. The only beings we worship are our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Joseph Smith was a great man and also a prophet, like Moses or Noah. We respect him and listen to his teachings like we do all prophets. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

Baptisms for the dead gives the chance for everyone to get the blessings of baptism even if they did not have the opportunity to be baptized while they were alive. Baptism is important for everyone because it represents a promise we make with Heavenly Father. We promise to follow his commandments and try our best to be like and represent Jesus Christ. As we keep our promise, Heavenly Father promises us peace, joy and guidance through the Holy ghost and that we can live with Him again in Heaven. If a person is not baptized while they are alive then another person can be baptized in their place so that they can make these promises with Heavenly Father and receive the blessings. Baptisms for the dead are performed in our temples. Show more Show less
