Hi I'm Trent

I'm a Mormon, husband, father, dental student, & sign language interpreter.

About Me

I'm a husband, father of two, a dental student, a sign language interpreter, and 7th child out of 10 kids with 7 sisters. I enjoy playing the piano, and recently picked up playing the organ. Because of my constant study load taking up most of my time I find great enjoyment out of doing home-improvement projects. One of my favorite things to do with my kids is take them to local outdoor sporting goods stores with mounted trophies--it's like our own free zoo experience close to home. Some day my wife and I hope to live on a large piece of land and teach our children how to raise animals and garden.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was raised a member of the Church, I learned early in life that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me and wants me to be happy during my earthly experience He has given me. As I have strengthened my relationship with my Heavenly Father I have learned more about my Savior, Jesus Chrits, by reading the scriptures and listening to the promptings of the Holy Ghost. The knowledge and spiritual witnesses I've had in my life have confirmed to me that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ restored Their church through Joseph Smith. The unbroken chain of prophets and priesthood authority continues to bless my life today. I find a temendous amount of peace, happiness, and strength as I follow the counsel God gives to His children through His living prophets.

How I live my faith

Living my faith includes gospel and scripture study, regularly attending Church meetings for worship, strengthening my family relationships, and serving in the Church. I know God speaks through the living prophets today as well as to us individually in quiet moments of personal reflection. Through the Holy Spirit I have learned of ways I can personally improve my life to be a better follower of Jesus Christ. One way I try to keep the Sabbath holy is to avoid doing homework for school on Sundays. I work up until midnight Saturday night and sometimes wake up early Monday mornings to keep studying, but I take a break from my studies on Sunday. I feel that taking this study break helps me refocus my outlook on life and worship undistracted from my secular endeavors. It also helps me keep important matters of life like my family high on my priority list. I served a two-year mission to California, United States, speaking American Sign Language, where I also learned Spanish. After my mission I served another two years as a part-time Church Service missionary by interpreting conferences and videos for the Church into sign lanuage. My current responsibility is serving as a family history consultant. Living my faith allows me many opportunities for growth and service. As I follow the principles and teachings of the Church with exactness, I have found a closer relationship with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I have also gained a clear understanding of why I am living here on earth and what God expects me to do in my life.
