Hi I'm Heather

I'm a young wife and mother. I'm a health enthusiast. I'm a lover of good food. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Family and friends have always been a big part of my life. As the oldest of 7 children, I spent my childhood learning about and exploring the world around me with my siblings and our friends. We spent many summer days riding our bikes, building forts in the trees, and camping in the backyard. My parents were and continue to be a source of wisdom and love as they encouraged me to work and play hard and see each day as a blessing. Looking at my childhood, it is easy to see where my passions for Family, Health Education, and the Beauties of this Earth come from. These things, as well as my Faith in Jesus Christ, have given me more happiness and satisfaction throughout my life. Now, as a wife to a wonderful man and the mother to two darling boys, I have a strong desire to share these passions with my little family and help them to develop a love and gratitude for life.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born into a Mormon family, it was my personal experiences and decisions that led me to remain an active member. When I was 12 years old my family moved from a small, primarily LDS Utah community to a new home in the Midwest. It was a turbulent time of my life as I suddenly found myself feeling very different, alone, and vulnerable. Making new friends was not too challenging, but finding friends who made me feel good was a terrible challenge. As I faced rejection and loneliness, I turned to my family, which in turn led me to the scriptures and prayer. Over time, my insecurities and weaknesses were replaced with the love, faith, and confidence that can only come from knowing that I am a daughter of God. He loves me infinitely and wants me to be happy. That knowledge gave me the strength I needed at that time and the desire to continue to study the scriptures and pray to my Father in Heaven. Throughout my youth years I had many similar experiences which helped me gain a testimony piece by piece. A little at a time, I came to know for myself that this Gospel has complete truth, which gives my life direction and purpose.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by teaching it to others. Whether it be in my own home, on our family blog, or to other children or youth at church, my faith is strengthened when I put it into words. By teaching my little boys in our daily lives, I am constantly reminded of what I believe and try to live in a way that is consistent with those beliefs.
