Hi I'm Peter

I'm an electrical engineer. I co-founded a non-profit to help amputees worldwide. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a hard-working individual with an ever-expanding list of things to do. Besides day to day work, I am grateful to be involved in several exciting opportunity to help others. Over the last five years, I have helped create an organization to provide low-cost prosthetics to amputees around the world. I have also been able to help those in my local community through a variety of service organizations and projects. The gospel of Jesus Christ means a lot to me because it has blessed my life in every way and helped me become a much better person. The knowledge of the gospel and of God's plan increases my love for others (as my fellow brothers and sisters) and propels me through my tough times. My family and friends are also very important to me. I grew up in a loving home and have been fortunate to have siblings going to the same university. I enjoy spending time with them and with friends-even if it is just going to the grocery store! I have a variety of other interests: almost any sport, baking (especially sweets), news, and supporting many humanitarian/social causes (such as promoting family values). I also enjoy learning and reading-even though I don't have much time to read anything other than scriptures and textbooks! I studied Electrical Engineering, which suits my desire to better the lives of others and to create. I find great satisfaction in seeking to improve myself and those around me. It is my hope is to uplift at least one person everyday.

Why I am a Mormon

I have studied the beliefs of many religions as well as the doctrines of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints. I have found by witness of the Holy Ghost and by personal spiritual experiences that it truly is Christ's church. Not only do I continue to better myself as I live the principles of gospel of Jesus Christ (as taught in His restored church), but I continue to feel confirmation of the truths of these principles. My experiences with the church have not been without doubts, struggles, or sacrifices, but I have become a better person from these trials. Although I was raised in the church, I needed to find out for myself if all of those teachings really were true. This prompted the deep study I mentioned above. Through exercising faith and being humble, I asked the Lord if He wanted me to be a part of this church and if it really was His church. I felt a strong feeling of peace and goodness that did not come from myself and knew that this was the Lord's answer. Acting on this answer, I felt good as I strived to faithfully study, live, and share the teachings of His church. I have asked God the same questions since then and also felt confirmation by the Spirit (even though the answer was not always immediate). This humility and faithfulness has blessed my life greatly. I have received so many blessings (such as peace, knowledge, fulfillment, and many other aids in my life) from my membership in the Lord's church. The church teaches that God is our Heavenly Father who loves us and has prepared a plan for us-that through our experience on Earth we can grow and be happy. Jesus Christ and His sacrifice on our behalf are essential for us to be happy. Through these insightful teachings of God and through prayer, I have come close to my Father in Heaven and my Savior. They have helped me in every aspect of my life. Of the things I have learned in my life, what I hold most valuable and what I am most sure of is the reality of God, my Savior, and His church.

How I live my faith

I strive every day to better learn and follow the teachings of Jesus Christ as taught in the scriptures and by the prophets He has called in our day. I draw close to God by praying to Him and by trying to do what He wants me to do. Jesus Christ did the will of our Father perfectly and so I try to do the things that He would. Among other things, this involves obeying His commandments, reaching out to others, and sharing His gospel. I feel His love as I serve others and follow the promptings of the Holy Ghost. I rely on the sacrifice and atonement of Jesus Christ every day to repent of my sins and shortcoming. I receive strength from remembering the Savior's example, through prayer, and through the empowering grace that He offers. By doing this, I am able to overcome temptations and truly improve myself. I feel that God is happy with my efforts and encourages me to do better.
