Hi I'm Doug

I grew up in 5 different States, I am a Clinical Social Worker, I'm an outdoors man, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married with 7 children. When I was 32, I decided to go back to college to begin and finish my education. Through the help of people who were part of my past, I gained insight into who I am and how to continue discovering and rediscovering who I am, and what I can become. These people were Social Workers, which inspired me to go into this field professionally. At 32, I was married with 5 children, my youngest, who were twin boys, had just been born 20 days before the start of the new semester. Despite their challenges for survival and their will to live, as well as 5 years straight of trials and tribulation, I graduated with a Master of Social Work degree in August 2007 and am currently a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at a Mental and Behavioral Health Hospital working primarily with children and adolescents. These young people are the future, which makes what I do so rewarding.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I was born a member of the church, however, through my life I had the opportunity to become more acquainted with God and His Son, Jesus Christ, which helped me to cling to the teachings of the church as I grew. Being a Mormon has brought me peace in life, it has helped me to avoid many pitfalls which exist in the world, and I am a good husband and father because of the teachings I received in my home as a youth. Following Jesus Christ is the only way to find continual peace and happiness both in this world and the world to come.

How I live my faith

I try to focus how I live my faith by the example I set of who I am when others are not watching, and when others are watching, showing genuine attributes I have acquired throughout my life. I try to remember to serve others, to show and use the kind heart I have been blessed with to have empathy and love for my fellow beings on Earth. Most of all I show this example to my children and to my wife, all whom I completely love and adore without reservation, how living a Christ-Centered life will bring greater peace and joy.
