Hi I'm Andy

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and a father of 4 children two girls and two boys. By profession, I am a research engineer. I was blessed with the opportunity to earn a Ph.D. degree. I enjoy my work, but the real fulfillment in my life is my family. I love my wife and my children. We enjoy going camping, picnicking, and hiking together.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed with parents who taught me about Jesus Christ and the Book of Mormon. That got me started, but I needed my own faith to keep going. In the New Testament, John 7:17, the Savior taught, "If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself." By living the teachings of the Savior, as restored by Joseph Smith, I have come to know that these teachings are true. The Holy Ghost has taught me, and I know that Jesus Christ is the only way back to our Heavenly Father, and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has the restored truth as taught by Jesus Christ. The church also has the Priesthood authority to perform the necessary ordinances to bring us to Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

The church has taught me about the importance of my family. I try to be committed to them in everything I do. I also spend time with the youth in the church. I have been the scoutmaster in a church sponsored troop for over 4 years, and I really enjoy it. I also try to help other families through the churchs hometeaching program.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

The Book of Mormon teaches "it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do." The Lord expects me to do everything I can. Everything I can do will not be enough, and the Atonement of Jesus Christ makes up the difference. We are all thus indebted to the Lord, Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
