Hi I'm John

I'm from the Midwest.

About Me

I'm currently attending college, majoring in Psychology. I like origami, kayaking, reading, and video games.

Why I am a Mormon

I started out being a Mormon because I was raised in the church. Now, though, I am one because I know it is true. No one could convince me otherwise.

How I live my faith

With everything that I am and have. My faith has become such a vital part of who I am, that I can hardly imagine what it would be like to not have it. It guides me every day in the choices I make, and I am constantly trying to improve my ability to listen to that guidance.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Ha! No. No more than anyone would worship Isaiah or Paul or anyone like that. You don't worship them, you simply respect them. Show more Show less

To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?

I once heard someone say that the Mormon Church had gotten "too big for its britches". She believed that the church was too large to remain free from corruption. I can sympathize with her sentiments: almost any organization that we encounter in this life, will, with a growth in power, also grow in corruption. But, I ask, is God limited? While men may be unable to develop something so large without corruption seeping in, God can! Christ made it quite clear that His gospel was for the whole world, so there is certainly no way that His church could ever out-grow itself! The church is growing because God prepared His gospel to fill the whole earth, and thankfully, many in the earth are finally coming to it. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the Holy Ghost? Who is the Holy Ghost?

We believe in the Holy Ghost because he is there; what's more, we've felt him. He is the Comforter. Everything that that name implies fits Him. He is the messenger that God has sent to cofort us and teach us what is true. Show more Show less

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

I don't know how to answer that question. I can think of tons of examples, but what could I say in such a brief answer that would really do justice? Anyone who read of one or two of my "evidences" would likely scoff and say that those are pitiful reasons for believing in a God, that they could be mere coincidence. I agree: one, maybe two, maybe even two hundred of these evidences could be pushed off as a series of unlikely coincidences, but when you combine a lifetime of blessings from the Lord, only a blind man could fail to see His hand. Simply put: God is real, and He is there for anyone who will reach out to him. I have, and He most definitely has been there for me. Show more Show less
