Hi I'm Cory Seymore

I am a small business owner, I love being a husband and father, I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of five children and I am currently running my own insurance business. I enjoy every day of my life and find joy in watching the progress of each one of my children. My wife and I are so blessed to have a happy family. I enjoy spending time outdoors with my family and playing sports with each of my children.

Why I am a Mormon

I personally have been a member of the church for my entire life. I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ helps me as a father to teach my children the way that they are to live their lives. I know that it is my responsibility to teach them the gospel of Jesus Christ and to help them to return to the presence of their Heavenly Father. The knowledge that families can be together forever is a huge blessing in my life. My mother passed away right after my 1st child was born and the knowledge that families can be together forever and the blessings of the temples on the earth have been a great strength to me in my life.

How I live my faith

I have had the opportunity to serve the people of my community and church in many different ways as a member of the church. I have been able to serve as a youth counselor in various capacities and help the young people of the world know the things that are important in their lives. There are so many opportunities to serve in the church and it is all done out of the love that is in my heart to serve those that are around me.

Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

Cory Seymore
I would like to answer this question as it is important to me at this point in my life. In the church people can be baptized when they are 8 years old or older. It is at this age that has been revealed to us through the prophets that children are old enough to understand from right and wrong and can choose for themselves to follow the Savior through baptism. When the Savior was baptized he sought out John the Baptist to baptize him by immersion in the Jordan river. Why did the Savior have to be baptized by John the Baptist? John the Baptist held the priesthood authority necessary to baptize a person. A person who baptizes somebody enabling them to follow the Savior through baptism needs to have the proper authority in order for the baptism to be validated. My daughter just turned 8 years old and asked that I her father baptize her. Her baptism was a wonderful experience and I was very happy that she made the decision to follow the Savior Jesus Christ through baptism. I hold the priesthood through the laying on of hands just as those in Jesus Christ's time that held and received the priesthood. It is a blessing in my life to be able to hold the priesthood and watch my children as they make the decision to follow the Savior Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
