Hi I'm Bonnie

I'm a mother and a wife, and I love life because I am a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a ball of energy. I'm a little loud and I have a terrible habit of go, go, go, but I am learning to feel the power of peace and self-reflection - the still moments that deepen our capacity to love, forgive, forget and change. Everything has it's time and place. I see in black and white. I love music. I crave change. I enjoy trying new things. I like systems and I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. The Savior is my greatest strength, my closest confidant and the reason I pick myself up and try, try again. People often ask why I am so happy and where I get my energy . . . I work everyday to put the Lord and my family first. I love being a mother, a wife and a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I chose it. The gospel of Jesus Christ is true, it's good and it's eternal. I LOVE being a Mormon. I am happy because of it. The gospel brings truth, perspective and inspiration to my life everyday. It blesses my family and it increases our love for each other, for the people around us and most importantly the love and relationship we have with our Savior.

How I live my faith

24/7, with open arms and whole lot of faith.

What is the Book of Mormon?

Bonnie
Another testament of Jesus Christ. It is a companion to the Holy Bible. It serves as a guiding light and inspiration in a troubled world and for a willing heart. It changes my life everyday. It increases my testimony of Jesus Christ and what I can do to follow His perfect example. It shows me and inspires me to do the will of the Father and His Son in my own life. Show more Show less

What is the role of the husband and the wife in the family?

Bonnie
To work together, as one with God. One in purpose. One in prayer and one truth; ultimately working to raise a happy, righteous family to the Lord. (Genesis: 2:24) 'Therefor shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.' Show more Show less

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Bonnie
Eternal ordinances - It's important to keep in mind that these temples are not secret, but they are sacred. 'In biblical times sacred ordinances were administered in holy edifices for the spiritual salvation of ancient Israel. The buildings thus used were not synagogues nor any other ordinary places of worship. They were specially constructed for this particular purpose. While the people traveled in the wilderness, they used a portable tabernacle. This tabernacle is called “the temple of the Lord,” and it was there, for instance, that Samuel’s mother went to pray. (1 Sam. 1:9.) When they ceased their wanderings and obtained a stable government, they built a glorious temple in Jerusalem to take its place. Following the pattern of biblical days, the Lord again in our day has provided these ordinances for the salvation of all who will believe and directs that temples be built in which to perform those sacred rites.' What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

Bonnie
'The family is ordained of God. Marriage between man and woman is essential to His eternal plan.' (The Family: A Proclamation to the World) This pattern of life is as old as man's existence on Earth. The Lord gives us patterns to exemplify doctrine. Adam and Eve were placed in the Garden of Eden and commanded to multiply and replenish the Earth. 'The first commandment that God gave to Adam and Eve pertained to their potential for parenthood as husband and wife. We declare that God's commandment for His children to multiply and replenish the earth remains in force.' (The Family: A Proclamation to the World) Strict obedience to the laws and ordinances of the gospel are imperative in the fulfillment of God's eternal plan. Show more Show less

Bonnie
Of course. You can read the Book of Mormon and know this for yourself. Show more Show less

Why is self-reliance important to Mormons? Why do Mormons talk about emergency preparedness?

Bonnie
Why not? It's for times just like these. Wouldn't it be a blessing for the thousands who have lost jobs and taken pay cuts in the past few years to have a supply of food, money and basic necessities to calm troubled minds and bring peace in times of such a wavering economy? Likewise, I am sure those who choose to follow the prophets counsel have been grateful for the guidance and blessed for their obedience. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about family?

That they come in all shapes, sizes and backgrounds. Families are diverse. They are individual and the can be eternal. With work, love, persistence and patience, family life can be enjoyed, not just endured. Show more Show less

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Bonnie
Ask . . . 'If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.' (James 1:5) That's what I do. That's what the boy prophet Joseph Smith did and that's what the Lord admonishes us to do - ask: search, ponder and pray. Show more Show less

Who chooses the Mormon prophet?

Bonnie
The prophet is called of God, just as in times of old. We believe in the same organization that existed in the primitive church. Just as Adam, Noah, Abraham and Moses were called of God to lead as prophet seers and revelators, so are the prophets of today called. With the restoration of the gospel and the proper priesthood authority came the restoration of living prophets to guide, direct and teach all of the Lord's children, everywhere. God is a God of order. He is the same 'yesterday, today and forever.' (Hebrews 13:8) Without a prophet there would be no order for God's people here on the earth today. Show more Show less
