Hi I'm Mike Beeson

I am a Mormon and it gives me perspective to understand (or attempt to understand) life's challenges.

About Me

My mother and step-father had been missing something in life. They found it when they learned of the plain and simple truths taught by the missionaries. My parents gave us children the agency to choose for ourselves. I chose not to join the church until I learned for myself - and I did several years later. But my conversion didn't happen just then, but happened over and over again as I felt the Spirit work on me during lessons, talks, and reading -- reading the Book of Mormon cemented my testimony. After fervent studying of the Book of Mormon, I took to my knees in prayer to beg the Lord to answer me. Were the words of this book true? Was there really a people who left the Middle East and made their way to the Americas? What I felt was unlike anything I felt ever before. I received such a strong spiritual confirmation that it was physical. My chest burned intensely. My doubts and concerns left and saw everything clearly. Tears came. I knew the Book of Mormon was true and the means by which it came forward were from God. I knew this more than I knew anything else. The invitation to take my doubts to the Lord worked like I had never expected they would. This invitation will work for you as well. So frequent in the scriptures we're told that you knock, it shall be opened. It's true! Our Father in Heaven answers prayers and will answer yours as well. Seek and ye shall find, knock and it shall be opened. Read the Book of Mormon and pray to know if it's true.

Why I am a Mormon

I am definitely not Mormon because it's easy. It's easier not to go to church. It's easier to not spend so much time serving others. It's easier to be selfish. BUT, by following the teachings of a living prophet, I am FREE from the struggles and guilt that accompany poor choices. The bottom line is that I'm a Mormon because it gives me peace, joy, and direction to lead my life in this modern era, but in a manner that I hope pleases our Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by seeking to understand everyone. I live my faith by never letting my wife and children doubt about how much I love them. I live my faith by trying to serve others.

Are Mormons Christians?

Mike Beeson
I am so grateful to have Christ at the center of my life. I want to do as Jesus would do. I want to treat people in a manner that he would treat others. I know that Jesus lived, died and was resurrected and having this knowledge gives me peace, direction and understanding. I admittedly am befuddled by those who have recently claimed that members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are not Christians. It hurts me at my core. I want to sit down with them - share my beliefs and have them see my heart. I want to share with them how the Holy Spirit testifies to me that He lives. So - "Mormons" are most definitely Christian. I have been taught to put Christ at the center of my life. Show more Show less
