Hi I'm Rainee

I moved to CO few months ago from CA and I'm Deaf. I received a kidney transplant a little more than a year ago. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to a wonderful gentleman whom I'm looking forward to spend eternity with. I was born deaf and been hard of hearing with hearing aids ever since, but cultural-wise, I am Deaf. I recently had a kidney transplant and that experience had made my testimony stronger. I had received many callings, big and small.

Why I am a Mormon

I have heard many times about Mormon LDS and only once I was introduced to the gospel in High School. That person is still a friend of mine even though I rejected it the first time she tried. Another friend who herself is profoundly deaf had introduced me to the gospel again four years later. I became interested. She suggested I read the Book of Mormon and pray about it. I read the first few chapters of the first Nephi about his lovely parents. I felt the spirit and since then, I never had any doubts about this wonderful church. I have more understanding why I'm here on this Earth, I have more comfort in the knowledge on death and why people act or make decision differently in life. This gospel has brought more joy and happiness than I have ever experienced in life other than being sealed for time and eternity with my husband and receiving a new kidney from my husband's best friend.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by going to church every Sunday and I try to participate in their activities. Naturally, I serve others and that service developed strong faith. I read scriptures as much as I can. I pray as much as I can. Faith is developed by doing things, not just saying things.

What is the Relief Society?

Relief Society is a place where women above the age of 18 go. Is is a place where we care for one another, talk to one another, serve one another, visit one another, love one another because we are all daughters of Heavenly Father. It is my favorite place to go because we all feel similar in ways that we can understand one another. Show more Show less
