Hi I'm Andrew

I am a fourth generation engineer, competitive skeet shooter, husband and father. And, I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Long Beach, CA. When I was about 13 my family moved to Littleton, CO. After I graduated high school my parents moved to Sammamish, WA. I started my college education at BYU-Idaho located in Rexburg, ID. Shortly after starting my education I was called by my church to serve a two year mission in Serbia. It was a growing and challenging experience for me. I came home to finish my education focusing on Mechanical Engineering. During my schooling I met and married my beautiful wife, Michelle. We both graduated and I continued on to graduate school at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, UT studying Mechanical Engineering. After graduating, my wife and I moved to Raleigh, NC where I took a job working as a consultant for a company dealing with the electric utility. Since then, we had a beautiful little girl and then moved to Huntersville, NC where I took a job in a R&D company for the electric utility. I have played several sports throughout my life, and now I focus on competitive skeet shooting. I started shooting with my dad when I was a little boy, and we still enjoy shooting together whenever we visit one another. I am fortunate enough that I can share this hobby with my wife and I hope to be able to teach all of my children.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in this church, but I needed to determine whether or not I believed in this faith. I decided that I needed to determine whether or not Joseph Smith was a true prophet called of God. I followed the promised given in Moroni 10:3-5. I prayed to know if the Book of Mormon was a true book, and if Joseph Smith translated it. I received personal revelation that Joseph is a true prophet, that the Book of Mormon is the word of God to be used with the Bible, and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church of Jesus Christ. This experience has only been amplified through more experiences throughout my life.

How I live my faith

My church is organized with an unpaid clergy. Because of this, we all serve one another in various capacities. We believe that each "calling" to serve is made by inspiration and revelation by our leaders. In my life I have had several opportunities to serve, from teaching 7 and 8 year olds to being a worker in our temples. Each calling brings different trails and experiences to grow and become a better disciple of Christ. I try with every calling I receive to maximize it and go above and beyond. I have had so many examples of others serving to fullest extent possible, that it has inspired me to want to serve. We learn in the Book of Mosiah 2:17 that, "...when ye are in the bservice of your cfellow beings ye are only in the service of your God." Our Heavenly Father and Christ just want us to serve all those that we come into contact with.
