Hi I'm Cody

I'm an Arizona Native. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the White Mountains of Arizona and enjoyed all the outdoor activities associated with living in a small mountian community. Activities that kept me motivated to make correct decisions and choose good friends included snowboarding, camping, and fishing. Although the small community taught me much, the opportunities that I wanted to pursue were found in the city. After serving a mission for the church and allowing the Lord to shape my life in this wonderful growing experience, I went to attend a university that allowed me to study Business and Biology for a future career in Optometry. Halfway through my studies I married the girl of my dreams and we have had 3 wonderful children together. To make a long story short, I decided to pursue a career in the homebuilding industry that my father in law had been a part of for several years. This turned out to be an amazing career that I have loved for more than 8 years now. My days are filled with family and couldn't imagine anything better than raising my children with my best friend and spending as much time as we can with them.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and have continued this throughout my life throughout the wonderful time and the trials. Having grown up with these beliefs I feel in hindsight that I probably took these things for granted. While serving a full time mission just out of High School, I had the ability to speak with hundreds of individuals and why they believe the things the believe which challenged my beliefs everyday. Many of these people, like myself, had grown up in their faith. As one who enjoys talking with other people about their beliefs I became more aware of the guidance and lasting happiness that come from living the gospel. I would frequently compare and analyze what I truly felt, unbiased and not because I grew up with these beliefs. It really comes down to the life of the Savior. His life was about constant service and living and teaching what he believed. I believe the Lord expects more out of His children that they might find lasting happiness and not the abundance of temporary happiness that blinds out eyes about what is really important. I believe His gospel is one that allows us to choose to become better people and gives us the direction to so. Out of the hundreds of churches that I learned about first hand from other people I found that they did not expect their believers to constantly progress to becoming more Christlike people. I'm a Mormon because I know that these principles will give my family strenth in a world surrounded with unhappiness and turmoil. They already have as my young family continues to grow. The Savior is a part of my everyday life and is more than something I learn about on Sunday. I believe these things will ultimately bring more ability to think clearly and choose the right forms of happiness in a constantly changing world.

How I live my faith

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is a part of my everyday life and the life of my family. My children are actively involved in youth programs where they are constantly being taught from someone who is not trying to make money but trying to serve humbly as the Savior did. My wife has the opportunity to work and teach the Young Women at times in their life when challenges and peer pressures are abundant. I have the opportunity to assist with the local community leaders as a clerk. Through this I manage the membership records and assist the leaders with several things so that they may stay in tune with the revelations that the Lord gives them and not be burdened. I have participated in several duties in the church and will continue to be given other opportunties throughout my life. Learning and teaching the scriptures are a constand in my life and the life of my family. We enjoy learning about the many revelation of the prophets in the Bible and Book of Mormon. The Lord continues to reveal things to his prophets in this changing world and we enjoy learning these things as well.
