Hi I'm Shannon

I grew up in California in a family of 10 kids. I'm a Marriage & Family Therapist, wife, mother and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a busy mother of three young children, wife and part-time therapist helping individuals, families and marriages. Life can be overwhelming hetic at times trying to balance all these roles, but the gospel of Jesus Christ gives me the balance I need. I love to cook Italian food, discover new cultures through travel and spend time outdoors with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a Mormon and found the Gospel of Jesus Christ gave me the hope, strength and peace I needed in my life. No matter what the trial, difficulty or challenge, my relationship with Jesus Christ and the knowledge and power of his Atonement has given me the power to endure.

How I live my faith

Every Sunday, I have the opportunity to teach the adult Sunday School class. Each week we study and discuss the scriptures, the words of the prophets and Jesus Christ. I love being able to share my knowlege and learn from others about how much the Gospel applies to our everyday life.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Mormon women are extremely busy! We serve in the church right along side our husbands. Although we do have separate roles, we believe men and women are equal partners in this life and in the church. Women have the sacred duty to bear, nurture and raise children, while men are often seen as providers and protecters for the home. At the same time, women are encouraged to get their education, better themselves and reach their highest potential. Luckily, I have an amazing husband who is just as good as changing diapers as balancing the checkbook. It is definately a team effort around here. Show more Show less
