Hi I'm Corey

I'm a snowboarder, a marathoner, an uncle, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 25 years old. I currently work for a tech company in Provo and I love every minute of it. I like action sports, especially those done outdoors. After being a snowboard instructor it's hard to keep me off the snow. I bought my first road bike this last summer and it has consumed my free time, when it's warm. I am an identical twin, the fourth of five kids.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to have been born in a righteous family; my parents, brothers, and sisters have helped showed me how to live a true Christian life. I have found peace all of my life in following the ways of the Savior.

How I live my faith

The most important change I have made recently in my life is putting God first. I noticed that I was coming up with reasons to need to leave work early more and more often. My performance numbers decreased and I was losing job satisfaction. I decided that I need to fix something, I wasn't happy. The change was pretty simple, and I saw immediate results. I changed my priorities from Self - God - Work to God - Work - Self. I now read my scriptures first thing when I wake up. I then go to work and crush it. After I have fulfilled my commitments at work, I go home and take the night off for myself. I read books, watch movies, waste time saving the world in a digital setting. I know, don't judge. Changing my alignment of priorities and putting my desires after the Lord's and after my employer's has made all the difference. My performance numbers at work are exemplary and my spiritual mindedness has never been better.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

A temple is a house of the Lord, a place where we may worship our Heavenly Father and feel of His presence. It is a sacred place where no unclean thing can enter. Because of the importance and sacredness of the temple, a temple recommend is required and is received based on individual worthiness within the church in order to enter its holy walls. The temple is where I go to find answers, to find peace, and to feel the Spirit. We are encouraged to go as often as possible and to attend seeking Spiritual guidance. Inside we perform sacred ordinances for ourselves and more often for others, those who are deceased. God requires that all to make covenants in order to return to His presence and many died without the opportunity to make these covenants. In the temple we perform the ordinances for them in their name giving them the opportunity to reject or accept the ordinance and thus enter into the presence of the Father. The temple is a very sacred and holy place. Show more Show less

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

We can strengthen our relationship with our Heavenly Father the same way we strengthen our relationship with our maternal father. Just as communication is vital for a strong relationship with our father, if we do not communicate with our Heavenly Father we will have a hard time building a relationship with Him. Two primary ways we can communicate with our Heavenly Father are through prayer and scripture study. If we want to speak to Him, we pray. If we want to hear from Him we read the scriptures. Throughout my life I have found that as I have read my scriptures I have received much guidance from my Heavenly Father. And through my personal prayers I have been able to share my struggles, hardships, and burdens. I have sought counsel, guidance, comfort, and strength as I have faced difficult situations in my life. My daily prayer and scripture study have truly helped me communicate with my Father in Heaven. And through such activities I am beginning to know him better and better each day. God wants this for all of His children. Show more Show less
