Hi I'm Lindsey

I'm a Texan, I'm a wife, I'm a teacher, I'm a spanish-speaker, I'm an aunt to 8, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to say that I wasn't born in Texas, but I got there as quick as I could. I went on an 18 month mission to Minnesota to serve in the Hispanic communities there. I love serving the Lord Jesus Christ! I am a high school teacher in Math and History. I love Easter and bunny rabbits, playing and watching sports (especially tennis, ping-pong, volleyball, and snowboarding), attending Broadway musicals, and eating out! I love singing at the top of my lungs and playing the piano and organ.

Why I am a Mormon

I love Jesus Christ! I want to follow Him and return to live with God one day. I feel happy when I read the Book of Mormon and go to Church. I know that they are true. I feel in my heart that Thomas S. Monson is the Lord's one true Prophet today.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by sharing it! I love to teach others about Jesus Christ, the Book of Mormon, and a living Prophet. I live my faith by serving and helping others. I reach out to those in need. I try to live so that others can tell that I am a follower of Jesus Christ and that I love Him.

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

Lindsey
Because we've been commanded to do so. Also so that everyone can be baptized and make these promises/covenants with God--even those that have passed on. They have a chance to still accept or reject Christ. I'm sure the Lord has it all organized on the other side. Show more Show less

Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

Lindsey
What would you do if an ice cream truck vendor pulled you over to give you a speeding ticket? Hopefully laugh (in a nice way) because he doesn't have any authority to do so. Only a policeman does. So should baptism only be performed by the proper authority of Jesus Christ. (See Matthew 16:17-19) Show more Show less
