Hi I'm Paul

I'm a father, a husband, love working in construction and on computers and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a very happily married man with three great kids and an amazing wife. I really enjoy spending time with my family whether at home or especially on vacation. We love to get out of town and go to fun and exciting places. Most of my time is spent working. I work for a high-end custom home builder and while I get my hands dirty every once in a while, most of my job involves managing, meeting, crunching numbers or developing systems. I love my job and find true satisfaction in seeing all parts of the business thrive. At home, I love spending time with my kids and helping them grow as individuals. I marvel at how different each child can be. I love trying to teach the gospel to my kids - when they will listen - and especially enjoy seeing them live the teachings of Christ in our home. I also love spending time with my wife, although we tend to put the kids first and look forward to the time when life will allow us to spend more quality time one on one. Finally, I truly love the Lord. I try hard to be a good person and follow the example of my savior, Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

While I grew up in the LDS church and have always enjoyed being a member, this is not why I am a Mormon. From early in my life I felt a true connection to God and have always had the desire to stay close to the Savior. From early on, I would have questions about the church and would find answers by studying the scriptures. Many times these "answers" were not in the text of the scriptures but rather in the feelings I would receive and the thoughts that would come to my mind while I was studying God's words. I have come to understand that this is the way God communicates with his children here on earth. Spiritual impressions I have received about the church, it's teachings, it's doctrine and it's leaders are the reason I am a Mormon. I know for myself that God lives, he loves us and our true joy in life can and will come by following him.

How I live my faith

I feel like the way you treat people is very reflective of who you are inside. While I am not the best at getting close to people in general, I truly try to treat people kindly. I almost always find myself trying to put myself in their shoes and understand where they are coming from. Simply, I try to treat others the way I would like to be treated. When it comes to my faith and how I live it, I can not fail to mention what the scriptures mean to me. Some of my most meaningful spiritual experiences in life have come when I am truly lost in the scriptures. Whether preparing to give a talk in church or teach a lesson, every once in a while I find myself learning more than what is written on the page. This is the Holy Ghost or the spirit helping me understand what God wants me to know individually. I know God lives and listens and cares about each one of us individually.
