Hi I'm Melissa

I'm a wife, stay at home mother, lover of nature and song, and......I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I love the beautiful creations of our loving Heavenly Father, so any chance I get to hike, camp, fish or do other things in the great outdoors, I'm usually there! I enjoy learning about children and their behaviors, the way they develop and adapt in different situations. I am grateful for the experience and knowledge I have learned, for it has prepared me to be a wife and a mother and to know how to safe guard my home! I hope to one day become an advocate for children and do social work. I love to sing! Whether that is along with the radio, kareoke or hymns, I love to sing! I grew up in Utah and was baptized at age 8. Even though I grew up in a very strong LDS environment, my home environment was not so strong. We had values and tried to go to chruch, but it wasn't taught much. I had always felt inside that being LDS was the path I NEEDED to take. I have never looked back! My life has been blessed because I have choosen to follow this path of righteousness and to follow my Savior! Without this path, it would not have lead me to who I am today. It would not have brought me to husband and the opportunity of rasing a family. I know that this is the true church of Christ, restored back to the earth through Prophet Jospeh Smith! I know that Joseph Smith and Thomas S. Monson are true prophets of God and were sent here to this earth to bring to pass His work! To lead and guide His saints to eternal life and to help all His children come back to live with Him!

Why I am a Mormon

I always knew that there was happiness to be had living the teachings, and when I had not been active, that was time of depression and confusion! I became active again when the missionaries brought us back after we moved away from Utah and into Oregon. Till this day I knew that those missionaries were sent to us for a reason! I needed to be brought back to the chruch because the Lord knew that my life would not have been happy other wise! Ever since returning, my life has grown immensly in not only temporal things, but most importantly, spiritual things. June 19, 2011 marks one year since I went through the temple and partook in those sacred ordiances to make it closer to living forever with my Heavenly Father! I believe that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God and Im eternally grateful for the faith and strength he had to kneel in a grove of trees and ask the Lord what chruch he should join. Im so blessed to know that I can rely on an all powerful being, who knows my life better than I do. Im grateful for the whisperings of the Holy Ghost to lead me and help me understand the answers to prayers. I know that through faith and obediance, He will not lead me astray and He will help my life to have joy, peace, love and happiness! Im grateful for the eternal purpose of temples and all they stand for! I know that families can be together forever and through the proper authority, man and woman can be sealed for all time and eternity! Im grateful for the marvelous power of the Priesthood and the wonderful blessings I can recieve by those who have the authority! Being a Latter-day Saint and striving to do my best to follow the one who knows all, has and will be the best and most important thing I will ever do in this life and continue to do in the next life! I love my Heavenly Father, and His Son, Jesus Christ, and am grateful for the comforting reassurance the Holy Ghost provides! This is my testimony, in the name of Jesus Chrst, Amen!

How I live my faith

As members of this church, we can receive callings to positions in our wards. Such as primary, young men/young women teacher, Sunday school callings, and the list goes on! How this helps me live my faith is that these callings don't just end with church ends! They are with us all the time! There are lessons that we have to prepare, and we do so spiritually with prayer and fervent scripture study! I live my faith by serving others. I live it by loving my family, helping them, giving them hugs and kisses, serving them Christ would. There is a mantra that I try to live by daily, and it's constantly in the forefront of my head! That is; What Would Jesus Do? I strive to live His example. I also live my faith by attending the temple as often as possible! Doing this, I am not only receiving blessings for myself, but I really do it for those who have passed on and are waiting for their turn to receive what the Lord has for them! Attending the temple brings me closer to my Heavenly Father and it brings me closer to my family. Knowing that I have a forever family is comforting to me and I strive to keep them safe guarded from the ways of the world and teach them that is a better world to learn of that is waiting for them!
