Hi I'm Scott

I'm a Mormon. I'm not much different than you. We're all sons and daughters of God. And Jesus Christ is my Savior!

About Me

I'm an accountant and business consultant and I teach accounting part-time at a local junior college. I'm married and I'm a father of five children and a grandfather of two (soon to be three). I enjoy sports (particularly tennis), reading (just about anything), spending time with my family (I wish my extended family lived closer!) and social networking on the computer (I enjoy keeping up to date with my family and friends). I have been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all my life, so the Church is much more than just a religion to me. It's my way of life!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I have a testimony that the principles taught and the ordinances performed therein are true. I have a testimony that Joseph Smith was visited by God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, and that Joseph was the instrument God used to restore the gospel of Jesus Christ to the earth after the falling away that was predicted in the New Testament. I have a testimony that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that, along with the Bible, it testifies of the mission and atonement of Jesus Christ. I have a testimony that the Church is led by modern-day prophets and apostles and that God continues to converse with man through revelation to these Church leaders. I have a testimony that God hears and answers my prayers and that he has been a guiding force for good throughout my entire life. I've had too many wonderful experiences in my life witnessed to me by the Holy Ghost to deny the testimony I have. I have a testimony that others like me can enjoy the witness of the Holy Ghost to help them also know that the gospel as contained in the Church is true. I happily bear my testimony of these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

I have been blessed throughout my life with many opportunities to serve God and my fellow man as a member of the Church. When I was 19 years of age, I served as a full-time missionary in the South Dakota Rapid City Mission (1974-175) and in the Canada Winnipeg Mission (1975-1976). I have served as a teacher to both the youth and adult organizations in the Church. I have been actively engaged in the Boy Scout program. It has been my great privilege to serve as a bishop, as a high councilor, and as a councilor in a stake presidency. I enjoy serving as a home teacher and with other Church members in service projects of various types. I try to exemplify the life of Jesus Christ in my daily actions; something I try to do better each day.
