Hi I'm Garrick

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

No where feels like home to me. I lived overseas a number of times growing up in Thailand, Russia, and the Philippines. I moved away for college. Moved again for graduate school. Moved twice for new jobs. I have fond memories and good friends from each stop along the way, but hardly identify with any city. What does feel like home is our little family with five small children around the dinner table, reading a book together, or sharing popcorn at the movie theater. While long car trips or late-night visits to the bathroom can seem tiring, I cherish the choice hugs, smiles, and laughs.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon for the simple peace I feel from the Holy Spirit. When I attend meetings, pray with my family, or read from the Bible or Book of Mormon I feel a clarity that assures me that what I am hearing, feeling, or reading is of God and for my benefit. This peace motivates me to live a more Christian life and strive to help my family and others find happiness on this earth.

How I live my faith

I work with our local group of singles as they navigate the challenges of education, jobs, and dating. We organize activities, encourage participation, and try to help each of these fine people find happiness in their career, their spiritual life, and in their family.
