Hi I'm Cindy

I'm a Mormon. I am a mom. I chose life!

About Me

I am a wife and stay at home mom. I have two boys and a little girl. My kids are the world to me. They are 6 and half years old, two and half years and six months old. Our daughter was born early at 25 weeks 6 days, she has spina bifida. She had fetal surgery at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, this is why she was born early. I started a blog about our decision to choose life. We have grown so much through this experience. It is amazing how the Lord helps us through everything. Most of my hobbies currently are related to my children. My favorite activity is to read with my children. I absolutely love reading with them. We love to go to the library and get tons of books. Also we like to play games on the computer and watch movies together. I play the piano. I like to teach my children music and to sing to them. I like to make up silly songs and sing them or change the words to the songs to match what we are doing. Music brings a great spirit into our lives. I love to photograph my kids and then make digital scrapbooks. Raising my children brings me more fullfilment than anything else I have ever done.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it just makes sense to me. I love my Savior, Jesus Christ. I have learned that He loves each of us more than we could ever imagine. I love His church here in the latter days. I am grateful for the Prophet Joseph Smith. He restored the fullness of Jesus Christ's gospel to the earth. Modern day prophets play a huge role in my testimony of Mormon church. I know that God loves us enough to send a prophet to the earth today. Thomas S. Monson is God's prophet today. I know that he speaks for God.

How I live my faith

I play the piano for church. Serving in this capacity has made me grow and get over my stage fright. I love to teach the piano, I think that playing the piano gives people a skill that can help them serve others and have fun at the same time. Music brings joy into my life and the lives of others. This past year we found out that our unborn daughter had spina bifida after her 20 week ultrasound. We were offered termination because it is legal in Michigan until 24 weeks gestation. We chose life and we are very happy. Now I started a blog about our decision to choose life. I want to spread the word that choosing life will bring happiness.

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

I am grateful that the Mormon church doesn't back political parties. Joseph Smith said "I teach correct principles and they govern themselves." As Mormons we are encourage to be involved in our communities and vote. I was involved heavily in the community and government as a teenager and young adult. Now with young children, I believe I should teach patriotism to them. I believe that if we teach our children correct we can solve thousands of problems in the future. I still vote and encourage others to vote. Show more Show less

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Our family has found great joy in reading the scriptures together. We have a treat each night while we have a relaxed study of the scriptures. We learn verses together and play games to teach the principles taught in the stories. Our whole family looks forward to this special time each day. We have more peace in our home as we have study the scriptures together. Show more Show less
