Hi I'm Justin

I'm a Mormon. I live in Korea and go to the Seoul English Branch, the best congregation in the world.

About Me

I like to play the Fiddle, build ham radios, ride my motorcycle, run and go camping with my family. I love my 4 kids more than anything else in the world and my eternal companion. They are the most important part of my life. I am a member of the US military serving in the Republic of Korea.

Why I am a Mormon

My Great-grandfather joined the Church and sacrificed so much to have the Gospel. In so many ways, I have been blessed as a result of having the Savior in my life. The assurance that I can be part of an eternal family gives me the most spiritual strength. I keep being a Mormon because the Gospel of Jesus Christ helps me focus on the right things. My membership in His Church means more to me than anything else in the world.

How I live my faith

I strive to set the best example and treat others the way the Savior would have me treat them. I work on a picture roster to help people at Church get to know each other. My branch --Seoul English Branch-- is one of the largest, most diverse branches in the Church!

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

I went on a mission for 2 years to the Florida Fort Lauderdale Mission Greatest Mission in the world! and feel I got more out of it than I put in. What does that mean? I went to preach the Gospel in Miami and found that by living it all the time and helping to share it with others, I got more insight and preparation for the future than I ever thought possible. It wasn't always easy, and I wasn't perfect, but I came away being more grateful for my missionary experiences than I ever thought I would. I went out to better myself at first, but once I realized that doing it to help others would automatically benefit me, I was able to better focus on the people and the right reason for being there. Why is self-reliance important to Mormons? Why do Mormons talk about emergency preparedness?

Self-reliance is a principle of Provident Living. It goes beyond being independent of others for food, clothing and shelter and means helping and teaching others to do so. It is manifested in small things like learning to cut hair and change oil at home. It is being financially prepared for hard times, physically prepared by being healthy and spiritually healthy. It is a truly balanced life and here is why. If ye are prepared, ye shall not fear. And what's more, you can help save others or prepare them against difficulties or disasters. Those who are prepared for the storms of life (in any form) lose nothing when they come. It's not easy to do, but being prepared for the loss of a job, natural disaster, civil unrest, or even protecting your home from evil influences is also considered self-reliance. Depending upon yourself for your preparation is a better way of life, although initially, it's not easy. Show more Show less

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

True freedom in my life means being free from addictions and avoidable health concerns. I run 3 miles a day to keep my heart and lungs strong, and truly believe that our health is a precious gift. Show more Show less
