Hi I'm Andy

I'm a Mormon

About Me

Joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1975, while serving in the United States Air Force in Thailand. As a young man was challenged with a lot of issues alcohol, tobacco, morality, anger and aggression. However, after joining the Church I found purpose in life and living. I feel like the Lord plucked me out of the quagmire, looked at me and let me see how messy I looked and asked, do you want to be different, I can show you how but you have to be committed to the course I set you on and not look back because it won't be easy, but it will be worth it. 36 years later, with the journey still in progress the choice to join the Church was the most significant life changing event in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

First and foremost is because I know the principles which I leared are true. I found them to be true in answers to very personal and private prayers. Those prayers were answered in a way that only Heavenly Father could have answered. Answers which spoke directly to my heart and mind, and the truthfulness of which were confirmed and attested to by the Holy Ghost. That was in Jun 1975. Those testimonies have remained with me and hold a dear and special place in my heart.

How I live my faith

Just by being myself, I am in no way perfect but I am striving to be a good person. Living my faith at the core is keeping the commandments, serving others, being mindful of the Atonement which our Savior brought about through His ministry, death and ressurection. By exercising faith in keeping the commandments, and through continual repentance Heavenly Father is able refine me as a person so that I can again return to His presence, and believe me I've a long way to go. However, I know Heavenly Father and my Savior are merciful and provided a way back through obedience to the commandments, faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, repentance and forgiveness.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

With first considering the priniciples being taught could indeed be true. By studying and searching for confirmation in the scriptures which provide added insight to the way the Lord hears and answers prayers.
