Hi I'm Patty M

I'm a Mormon. I'm also a mom, an accountant, an avid blogger, and I love working with children.

About Me

I live in Texas and I am an accountant by profession. I love to decorate, blog and scrapbook. I also love spending time with my children and bargain hunt! A penny saved is a penny earned :

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I searched and searched for just the right church. One night I knelt in prayer and asked God which church should I join hmmm sound familiar? I specifically asked that I not be contacted by anyone but that I should be led to it. It just so happened that my coworker was Mormon. I asked her about coming to church with her and the rest is history. I love that I now have a personal relationship with my Heavenly Father as my Father and not just see HIM as GOD. This has totally changed my life. I was at one point in my life an atheist. I was bitter and sad and just was done with life. Until I set foot in that chapel. I finally felt like I belonged. I am blessed now beyond recognition. My family and I have been sealed in the temple forever! I am happy that my children know they are sons and daughters of God.

How I live my faith

Staying close to my Heavenly Father thru prayer is how I live my faith. I don't consider myself Mormon just because I was baptised. I live it every day. Studying the scriptures, spending time with family in prayer, sharing with my children true accounts of my walk alone and now with God. My children can see that their mom and dad are human beings and that we were put on this earth to teach them the gospel. They are taught that they are sons and daughters of a Heavenly Father and they are loved very much. I love to go to the temple. I am humbled to serve others thru our church and I love the organization of it where everyone is "unpaid". This is truly what I had been looking for all my life.

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

Patty M
One of the things that most impressed me about joining the church 7 years ago is that missionaries pay for their own mission. It is not a paid job. I like that these young people choose to go and spread the gospel. They work and save and then draw from that fund that they paid into to live off of for 2 years! What better way to spend your teen years than serving the Lord! I can't wait to have my own sons serve the Lord as well and me too when I am older. Show more Show less
