Hi I'm Derek

I'm just floating around trying to do some good and align my perception up with absolute truth as much as possible!

About Me

I live in southern California and work as a motion graphics designer animating videos. I'm married with a new son, and served as a missionary in Guatemala.

Why I am a Mormon

I would like to consider myself an honest seeker of truth in all things, wherever it is found. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because men in our day have claimed first-hand witnesses to the reality of God's existence, in addition to ancient witnesses found in scripture, and I believe those men. The teachings of the church regarding salvation through Christ have provided me with more peace, clarity and "ah-ha" moments than I've found anywhere else in my life, and provides me with the most comprehensive paradigm on how to view this existence. I have seen the same peace and clarity in the lives of others, and can see no greater force for good on this planet. There is reason for both doubt and belief, and I choose to believe.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by obeying God's commandments, loving my family and fellowman, and serving wherever possible.

What is the Book of Mormon?

Who are the Mormons?

"Mormon" is a nickname for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We were first called Mormons because of The Book of Mormon, which we hold sacred and holy as the Bible. Show more Show less
