Hi I'm Julie

I am a wife and a mother! I love heirloom sewing, quilting and other needlework. I am a child of God. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in New Mexico. My husband and I have been married for 29 years. We have lived in Utah, Alaska and California. We currently live in New Mexico and I feel like we are "home!" I have 6 children, a daughter and 5 sons. Three of my children are married. One son is at college (BYU) and two sons still live at home. I also have 3 grandchildren whom I love being with. My parents and my sister, who has Downe's Syndrome, live in our home as well. I worked as a Speech/Language Pathologist (Speech Therapist) off and on for 25 years in nursing homes, the clinical setting and mostly, in public schools. I am now "retired" and hoping to spend much more time sewing quilts & heirloom items, teaching sewing in my own shop, doing other needlework, reading good books, playing the piano & singing, learning to play the violin and being a better mother/grandmother.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born of "goodly parents" so I was taught to be faithful, love God and live a righteous life. My parents had been raised in this Church, as were their parents. I have a long, strong heritage of devoted membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. During my teenage and college years, I decided that I really needed to be sure and know for myself that all the things I had been taught were true. Through study and prayer, I have been given a strong witness that Heavenly Father loves me and He wants me to be happy. He has given us all the path to that eternal happiness through this gospel. I am a Mormon because God has answered my prayers. I have been assured through spiritual promptings that this is the way to happiness. I know that he wants me, my family and all of mankind to have this joy! I am a Mormon because it feels so RIGHT and IT MAKES ME HAPPY!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by teaching my children the gospel. I encourage them to teach their children, too. I have worked with many children in my life in the Church and in my career. Some of them have been difficult to love, but I have tried to show Christ-like love to them and encouraged them to keep striving to do better. I want them to be happy too. I try to teach others the truths I have found. I live my faith by sending my sons and daughter out to share this message of joy all over the world. I live my faith by studying the scriptures and praying to Heavenly Father in gratitude. I try to serve others. I have tried to set a good example of service and love anywhere I have been.
