Hi I'm Ken

I'm retired from Social Security. I like intelligent science fiction, 60's & 70's pop music, and community theater. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

After 27 years with the Social Security Administration, I look now to spending my "second adulthood" as a writer and a teacher. I'm married with grown children, love my family, and live in a beautiful part of the world.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised by a good family in a good church, but I felt incomplete and pretty much stopped attending. I certainly never thought I would become a Mormon. They were portrayed as pretty weird in the books, movies, and TV shows of my youth. But when a Mormon family moved to our area and two of their children went to my high school, they weren't weird. They were good people! When I learned about what Mormons believed, I felt it had a ring of truth to it. When I gathered the courage to ask God about what my relationship with the LDS Church should be, I got a warm, silent assurance that I should join. I did, and nearly 40 years later I'm still here, firmly convinced this is where I should be.

How I live my faith

I try to live a good Christian life. I'm shy but try to be friendly and helpful. I enjoy teaching at Sunday School and other church meetings. I served a 2-year mission to Thailand when I was a young man. My wife and I recently served as Church Employment Service Missionaries, where we helped people find jobs. We have also volunteered at the Family History Center, and currently volunteer at the local public library.
