Hi I'm Robert

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently going to dental school. I spend my day looking in peoples mouth and love what I do. I am a father of two. When I have time to get away I love to go kayaking, camping and chase my little girl around the park or watching my son learn to crawl. My wife and I met at a soccer game and although for her it was not love at first sight I talked her into it and now we share a love that is undeniable.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church but that is not why I am a Mormon. I am Mormon because I believe it is true. I wish I could say I was a visited by an angel or had a grand vision but I haven't. I just have a calm peaceful assurance that what I believe is true. I have had answers to my prayers and have seen blessings come into my life as I live the teachings of the church. My experiences in the church have lead me to the point where I can say I don't just feel the church is true I know it is. More importantly I have come closer to Christ through my participation with its members and teachings then I could have in any other way.

How I live my faith

To be a member of the church it takes more than just going to meetings. I have had the chance to grow up participating in youth programs, taking after school bible studies and serving a two year mission for my church. Since that time I have served in several church callings such as sunday school teacher, secretary for the bishop of the ward and most importantly a home teacher. Through these callings I have been given opportunities to serve others. They have taught me to see others the way our Saviour sees them. Each day I live my faith through prayer, scripture study and trying to be the best father and husband I can be. I am not perfect far from but my faith has helped me to become better to do better then I could have done on my own.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

For sure I do, why wouldn't I. My belief basically comes down to this we are all children of God and God loves his children so why wouldn't he speak to us. He sent Mosses to the Israelites, Jonah to people of Nineveh, John the Baptist to the jews and Paul to the gentiles why would he not send some one to us today. Do we need a prophet as much as those of old? of course we do, perhaps more. The best part is we don't have to follow in blind faith either. God has set up a marvellous checks and balance system for us to determine the truth. If you truly want to know if President Monson is a prophet ask God and he will tell you. He said Himself "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God" James 1:5 KJV sound familiar... "But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. " James1:6 I am a lifelong member and yet I took God at his word and asked for myself. I have no doubt what my answer was and I challenge you to do the same. I promise God will answer. He is just waiting for us to slow down and just listen. Show more Show less
