Hi I'm Ariel
I love to learn, laugh, sing, and teach the gospel of Jesus Christ. I'm a Mormon.
I had three years of college at BYU and six weeks in London under my belt when I chose to serve a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am now serving as a missionary in the upstate New York area. Changes have come quickly, and I have experienced many challenges, including watching my mother's battle with cancer, but with God's help, all those challenges have been overcome, and I have found joy even when times are hard. I enjoy reading, I relish learning, I tend to get lost in thought, and I dearly love wordplay. I love my Savior, my family, and my life!
I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints my whole life, but I choose to live the gospel because I know it brings me and my family closer to Christ, which brings true happiness. I have never had one of those flash-of-light-angels-singing experiences when I KNEW the Church was true. Instead, that knowledge has come over time through countless smaller experiences. I remember as a child singing songs about Jesus in church and feeling really good and happy inside. I remember that same happy, peaceful feeling as I started reading my scriptures every day at the beginning of my teenage years. Now, as a young single adult, I seek after that feeling, the Holy Ghost, as I strive to walk with Christ each day by serving those around me and asking God to help me become the person He wants me to be. My faith in Christ and His gospel is my anchor. The young adult years are full of change and new experiences and important life decisions, but I can have peace through it all as I rely on Jesus Christ. I truly believe that everything works out, and that even difficult experiences can be purifying, strengthening, and uplifting. I know that God lives and that He loves all people, because we are all His children. I know that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died so all men could repent and be saved. I know that Christ's atonement is big enough and deep enough to cleanse the worst sins and heal the deepest wounds. Through Christ, I have confidence that there are good things to come at this time in my life and in the future.
In its most basic form, I live my faith by trying every day to do what Jesus would do for the people that I meet. I smile at those who serve me. I write letters to those who need encouragement. I take coats to people who rush outside to talk on the phone and forget theirs. I save a doughnut for my friend because I know it's her favorite kind. I tell people about the source of the inner peace I feel, the source they can look to for true comfort and true joy: Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I live my faith by serving others.
