Hi I'm Christina

I'm a recently graduated math teacher, I love sports and the mountains and being outside and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love people! First and foremost in my life are my family and friends. I love spending time and having a great time doing just about anything with them. They teach me so much and are just quality people that you can't help but want to be around! Food is a big hobby of mine I love to eat it, not so much cook it but anything that allows me to be active and do something new, good experiences that will be fun to tell people about. I recently graduated from college and will be beginning my first year of teaching. I loved my college experience but look forward to my first year teaching math with great high school kids. Some people call me crazy and can not understand the career choice but I love that I never have a day of work that is exactly the same as another and that I have the opportunity to help kids feel successful, desire learning and contribute to society.

Why I am a Mormon

I wasn't exactly raised in this church my entirely life, but chose to be baptized at almost age 10. When I was reaching the end of high school I was given the opportunity to go teach with sister missionaries in my area. As I taught with them and heard them share their feelings about this church I felt peace and joy beyond anything I had ever felt. I continued to personally study the Book of Mormon and Bible I continued to feel that each time I read. Attending a church university I did more and more of that and came to realize that I found answers to questions I had, developed a personal relationship with My Father in Heaven and Savior Jesus Christ and knew and understood what the Savior taught was required to do to return to live with He and our Heavenly Father. The Savior and Son of God came to this Earth to teach us and establish His church, and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the very same church restored again to the Earth and the beauty of it all is that like me, every person can pray to their Heavenly Father and receive a witness from Him for themselves. I did it! I felt joy and a calm assurance that it was in fact true!

How I live my faith

Being a member of any faith requires action! I have found that as I am more actively involved in incorporating the teachings of the church in my life I learn more, understand more, and feel a desire to be better. Put most simply I try to live what I learn! As we learn about Jesus Christ and His example I try to put that in practice in my everday life look to help others around me as He would strive to be a strength and support to those that may be in need be happy! When we put these things in practice first in our homes and those closest to us and then let that ripple outward with friends, other church members, neighbors, co-workers etc, many can be affected!

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Missionaries do not get any monetary gain from going on missions and preaching or proselyting. In fact, they pay to go on missions. I myself served a mission and my drive and desire for serving came from feeling the change the church made in my life realizing that I was happier, felt more purpose and meaning in my life and because of that desired everyone to feel that very same thing. Missionaries proselyte and teaching about this church because the message they have has changed their lives, it changed mine, we love it and know that it can benefit others! Our hope in teaching is never to get people to give up what they have but to bring all that they have that is good and come get more of it come sample what we have had a taste of! Show more Show less
