Hi I'm Anna

I'm a graphic designer, freelance editor and mother of four. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My educational background is in psychology/counseling, and I've used that skillset over the years as a journalist, fiction editor, saleswoman, manager, graphic designer, writer, caterer, mother and wife. I volunteer in my community, and help parents of children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder ADHD learn to manage their difficulties and talents. I love to travel, and learn. I'm fascinated with foreign cultures and history. I prefer to learn something on vacation than vegetate.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents converted to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the late 1960s. I grew up in the Church, and was often the only Mormon in a room full of people who got their religious information from newspapers and tabloid press which weren't overly concerned with accuracy. I spent a lot of my youth defending my standards/morals. In college, my beliefs were tried and tested. It was then that I really internalized the good principles and morals I'd been taught as a child. I discovered through misfortune that those principles and morals were important to living a successful and useful life. I began to read the Bible and the Book of Mormon and to pray sincerely. Through prayer I was reminded that God is real and does know who I am/what I'm like. I know God cares about me. By reading the Bible and the Book of Mormon I now know the importance of Jesus Christ's actions and teachings to my life. I'm a Mormon because I found out for myself that God is real and this is His Church.

How I live my faith

I really enjoy life. This is a fantastic world, despite its problems and I'm thankful to be here. My first priority is to the four children that my husband and I brought into the world. I work hard to teach them correct principles like honesty, love, hard work, confidence, integrity, respect, and virtue. At church, I am the director for all of our children's programs. I really enjoy helping the children in my care learn about the love that our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have for us. I love helping them understand that the Gospel of Jesus Christ makes a tangible difference for good in our lives.

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

If each person in a relationship has faith in Jesus Christ then s/he is constantly trying to change her/his life to follow the Savior more closely. Faith brings unselfishness, patience, love and constance to relationships. Faith allows relationships to weather problems and remain strong. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Yes! God is eternal and unchanging. He loves us and wants to speak to us as much as He loves and spoke to the people who lived on the earth in ancient times. Show more Show less
