Hi I'm Desirae

I'm a mom. I'm a teacher. I am a breast cancer survivor. I love to serve. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and a mom of four amazing kids. Being a mom is my most important job and I am grateful to have the opportunity to do it. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in August 2011. Currently, I am cancer free. The road to recovery has been very long and very hard at times, but the things that I have learned along the way are priceless. I wouldn't change a thing. I love to be creative and to sing and play the piano. I love to serve others both in the church and in my community. Every day is an adventure and I am just trying to enjoy the ride.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that I am a daughter of a Heavenly Father who loves me and knows me by name. My Savior, Jesus Christ, suffered for my sins in Gethsemane so that I can repent when I make mistakes. I have always been a member of the church, but was converted as a teenager when I decided to find out for myself if this church was true. I prayed to my Father in Heaven and read in the Book of Mormon and Bible. Each time I would do these things, I would feel a sweet spirit of peace and comfort telling me that this church is true- that my Father in Heaven loves me- that my Savior loves me and died for me- and that Joseph Smith saw the Father and the Son.

How I live my faith

My greatest blessing and greatest challenge is that of being a mother. My Father in Heaven has blessed me with 4 of his beautiful children to teach and nurture here on earth. I have also had a lot of opportunities to work in the different organizations of our church. I have loved each opportunity and by doing my best in each one, I have found joy in serving the Lord. I know that it is through my Savior that I am able to do all things. He eases my burdens and carries me when things get rough. I love to share my testimony and love for the Savior, Jesus Christ. Living the gospel of Jesus Christ is not an easy task. He asks a lot of us, and some days that can get overwhelming, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I know that through perseverance and hard work, the reward at the end will be glorious.

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

Thomas S. Monson is our prophet today. He is a wonderful example of service and I have a testimony that He is the Lord's mouthpiece. He tells us the things our Father would have us know. Show more Show less
