Hi I'm Gordon

I'm a Husband, Father, Grandfather, retired banker and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

As a father and grandfather the church is very important to me. I'm retired after a banking career, now busier than ever with 19 grand children. Family is the most important thing to me. My greatest joy is spending time with as many members of my extended family as possible. Ball games, beauty pageants, and cheer-leading are prominent in the lives of the grandchildren so supporting their efforts by rooting for them is very important to me and them. As someone that didn't finish their education until all my children were grown it was important to set a good example by completing that. I received my Bachelor's in Business Administration at age 52.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up in the church, I found it was necessary for me to gain a testimony of my own. After studying the scriptures, I asked for confirmation that this was the church of Jesus Christ. Each step of the way, I was guided by the Holy Spirit. Today, I bear witness to all that Jesus Christ has restored his church to the earth. He loves us and gave his life for us. The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. A Prophet leads His church. We know where we came from, why we are here, and where we are going. The most precious thing is that we will be able to have our family together with us for the eternities. We strive to follow the example set by the Savior in our thought and actions.

How I live my faith

My faith is strengthened by reading the scriptures, the church magazines and praying. There are no paid clergy so we "look after" an assigned number of the congregation by visiting and helping them as needed much like a minister would in other faiths. For years my assignment was to teach Sunday School to the 12-18 age group. Lately I have served in mostly in administrative areas. Serving the Lord by serving my fellow beings has always been a privilege and a blessing to my family as well as those I served.
